Our Story

It's back to the future for family owned Redmetal

with partners Sue and Grant Edmonds along with Diane and Gary Simpson reaffirming their commitment to and passion for high quality wine production. Our daughter makes time in her life every year to come home and help with the vintage (although Covid-19 put paid to that for the 2020 vintage), and our son still provides some muscle power when he can get time off work. When you’re born into it, you have wine coursing through your veins.

Grant returned to run the winery and vineyard in 2018

on a full time basis, coming full circle after more than 30 years making wine elsewhere and running Redmetal in his spare time. Rekindling the passion  happened almost instantly and now we’re applying all the accumulated experience of three decades as a winemaker to produce the highest quality wines that we can.
